Oppenau Introduces Anni’s Schwarzwald Geheimnis in French
Oppenau, a charming town in Germany, has introduced a new and exciting opportunity for families with children to embark on a puzzling adventure with the Schwarzwaldmaskottchen (Black Forest mascot) “Anni,” now available in the French language. The mayor of Oppenau, Uwe Gaiser, along with Gunia Wassmer, the managing director of Renchtal Tourismus GmbH, warmly received the French version of the popular hiking puzzle backpack, “Annis Schwarzwald Geheimnis.” The backpack was presented by Anika Klaffke, the secretary-general of Eurodistrict, with the aim of creating another cross-border tourism attraction within the Eurodistrict region.
Exploring the Puzzle Journey
Annis Schwarzwald Geheimnis, a combination of a treasure hunt and an escape room, promises endless fun for the whole family. At the beginning of the tour, children and their families are provided with a backpack filled with boxes and locks containing numerous riddles and tasks. These challenges are gradually solved along an interesting route, which incorporates local history and encourages exploration of nature. In Oppenau, the focus is on the story of Mönch Theodor, and the inquisitive children must help the monk discover his purpose in Oppenau.
The hiking route spans approximately three kilometers and is suitable for strollers. Starting and ending at the Tourist Information in Oppenau, the puzzle adventure lasts for two to three hours and is designed for children between the ages of seven and twelve years.
Availability and Reservation
The bilingual puzzle backpack, available in both German and French, can now be obtained from the Tourist Information in Oppenau. To participate in the puzzle journey, interested individuals need to register in advance by contacting the Oppenau Service Center at +49 7804 4836 or via email at oppenau@renchtal-tourismus.de.
This expansion of the puzzle backpack offerings arose due to the demand from French-speaking families wanting to enjoy the Anni experience. The Eurodistrict working group on tourism initiated this cross-border expansion. The funding for each backpack, amounting to approximately €3,000, is generously provided by the Eurodistrict Strasbourg-Ortenau. Oppenau now joins five other municipalities, including Oberkirch, Zell am Harmersbach, Sasbachwalden, Oberwolfach, and Oberharmersbach, in making the Schwarzwald Tourismus GmbH puzzle backpack accessible to a French audience.
