Florian Buchwald, an 18-year-old apprentice baker at Bäckerei Wittig in Görlitz-Rauschwalde, starts his day when many others are just falling asleep. Every night, he wakes up to the sound of his alarm clock at around 11:30 PM, as his work begins at 1:30 AM. Living in the city center of Görlitz, Florian faces a challenge – there is no bus service to Rauschwalde at such an early hour. Undeterred, he walks approximately 35 minutes to the bakery, carrying his dreams of becoming a baker since childhood.
“And I have early evenings off,” says Florian Buchwald, emphasizing his passion for the profession.
