After a difficult period of limited funding for private builders, homeowners in Görlitz now have reason to celebrate. Five property owners in the city are set to benefit from increased government funding for renovation projects.

“Klaudia Szeremeta has double the reason to be thrilled. Together with her husband, Slawomir Szeremeta, the Görlitz architect originally from Boleslawiec, Poland, has purchased an old building on James-von-Moltke-Straße 9 – the former Goethe Pharmacy. Until recently, the facade of the building was entirely covered in overgrown trees and shrubs. Additionally, the couple will receive a grant of 111,000 euros for the renovation of the exterior, including the roof, facade, and windows.”

A Revitalized Gem on James-von-Moltke-Straße

Klaudia Szeremeta, an experienced property renovator, has embarked on a new project to restore the building located at James-von-Moltke-Straße 9. The property, once home to the famous Goethe Pharmacy, will undergo a remarkable transformation, thanks to the efforts of the Szeremeta couple.

The building’s facade, which was previously hidden beneath an overgrowth of vegetation, will be revealed in all its glory once the renovation is complete. The rejuvenated exterior, complemented by new roofing and windows, will breathe new life into this historical site.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to restore this fantastic building to its former glory. Our goal is to preserve the rich heritage of Görlitz while creating a modern and comfortable space for future residents,” said Klaudia Szeremeta.

Financial Assistance for Renovation

The funding for the renovation project on James-von-Moltke-Straße 9 is made possible by government grants provided to support private construction initiatives. The Szeremeta couple has been awarded a grant of 111,000 euros to aid in the restoration of the building’s exterior elements.

This financial assistance will enable the couple to undertake necessary repairs and improvements that would have otherwise been challenging to fund independently. It serves as a testament to the government’s commitment to preserving the architectural heritage of the region and supporting local homeowners in their renovation efforts.

A Testament to Görlitz’s Potential

The revitalization of buildings like the one on James-von-Moltke-Straße 9 highlights the immense potential for development and restoration within Görlitz. By preserving and enhancing its historical structures, the city can attract residents and visitors alike, fostering a vibrant and prosperous community.

As more homeowners embark on renovation projects with government support, the city’s architectural landscape is being transformed, ensuring that Görlitz continues to shine as a culturally rich and visually captivating destination.
