A Very Special August Schwer Black Forest Antique Handcarved 1-Day Movement Hunting Clock

A vintage high-quality hunting theme cuckoo clock to especially delight enthusiasts and collectors of traditional rustic hunting clocks. The antique style timepiece has been painstakingly crafted by one of Germany’s most renowned Clock manufacturers to imitate one of the first and most characteristic Black Forest hunting designs.

The Black Forest or Schwarzwald has been handcrafting cuckoo clocks of the highest standards for almost 300 years; and this timepiece reflects one of the oldest types of cuckoo clocks which Germany proudly claims to be its own–the Hunting Theme Clock, which most often depicts the hunter’s game and gear.

In keeping with the traditional hunting carvings of vintage Black Forest wooden cuckoo clocks, this model too has a top-mounted stag head proudly displayed over two crossing rifles, the traditional hare and bird catch displayed on either side of the dial, a belt powder pouch tucked under it, and oak leaves that extend beautifully from the corners to add a touch of local flora to the sculpture.
