August Schwer 8-Day Handcrafted Black Forest Music Cuckoo Clock with Beer Drinkers Dancing Figurines

Below the spreading roof are beautifully sculpted balconies, a miniature window, and a flower box that are skillfully blended into the chalet’s polished walnut-toned frame. The quaint little outbuilding with all its accouterments on the left of the chalet is typical of the additional structures that were traditionally built on most forest farmlands.

The base of the clock is where the action takes place: two figurines of beer-drinkers in traditional costume heartily swig their beer while a pretty lady figurine looks out from the balcony. The farm animal figurines, a water trough, chopped logs, a ladder, wooden benches, barrels, an outdoor table and stools, evergreens, and shrubs are details that add a great deal of authenticity to this miniature beer garden. Whenever the clock strikes the hour, the two villagers toast each other’s health to the rhythm of its chimes while the lady moves her head from side to side in gentle affirmation. The elaborately costumed dancing figurines gracefully rotate to the merry tunes of the music box adding a great deal of vitality to an exceptional depiction of Black Forest culture and atmosphere.
