Sachsen stellt zum Halbjahr 620 neue Lehrkräfte ein
According to a recent news report from Sachsen, the state is hiring 620 new teachers for the second half of the school year. This development is aimed at ensuring that the educational system is adequately staffed. However, even with these new recruitments, there is still a shortage of approximately 1,000 teachers for this academic year.
Hiring majority of teachers for primary schools
The report highlights that the majority of the new teachers, around 187 individuals, will be assigned to teach at primary schools. This is a positive move as it signifies the focus on providing a strong foundation for students at an early stage of their education.
“With the addition of these new teachers, there will be improved capacity to support the development and growth of young minds in Sachsen’s elementary education sector.”
Expansion of the teaching workforce
After the winter break, this week marks the beginning of the services of the new batch of teachers in Sachsen. In the mid-year recruitment process, the state government has successfully hired 587 completely trained educators, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Education and Culture on Tuesday. These teachers will be primarily assigned to primary and secondary schools, while an additional 34 pedagogical specialists will be joining special needs schools.
“This strategic hiring process further strengthens the teaching workforce, aiming to ensure quality education and comprehensive support for students at different levels of their educational journey.”
